Debbie Venier has over 20 years of experience in the embryology field.
Experience
Debbie began her career as a clinical embryologist in 1994 at Nashville Fertility Center. She subsequently founded and developed the undergraduate embryology program at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she taught applied embryology and genetics for ten years. Her innovative and rigorous curriculum was groundbreaking at the time and continues to serve as the foundation of the embryology program at Cal Poly today.
In 2009, Debbie returned to clinical embryology, working at San Diego Fertility Center and later at La Jolla IVF, where she served as Laboratory Supervisor. She is a Certified Technical Supervisor through the American Board of Bioanalysts.
Debbie’s greatest passion and strength lie in education and hands-on training. For more than a decade, she has trained embryologists worldwide in advanced techniques including embryo biopsy and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). She is a highly sought-after international speaker and trainer and has been invited to teach and collaborate with leading organizations such as Illumina, Cooper Genomics, Hamilton Thorne, Vitrolife, the Southwest Embryology Society, and Eastern Virginia Medical School.
In addition to her teaching and training roles, Debbie has served as a board member for the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS) and as a committee member for the College of Reproductive Biology (CRB).
With a career spanning three decades, Debbie has trained and mentored hundreds of embryologists. Many practicing embryologists across the United States have been taught or influenced by her training at some point in their careers.
